Offering Multiple Payment Options at Booking

Most photographers like to be flexible with clients on how they are paid. If you want to offer a client different options right off the bat, the best thing to do is add different payment schedules to the proposal.

This way you can offer, for example, a full payment on acceptance (COA), along with your standard payment terms. Payment Terms can be set up by visiting Settings > Lists > Payment Terms, and in that section, you can add new terms or see what you have already set up.

See an example below of a Proposal with multiple payment schedules for the client to choose from:

Changing a Payment Schedule After Booking

Now, if your client decides mid-way through their payment schedule that they'd like to pay more or change anything on an invoice, you need to take different steps to edit the invoice in order to change the due date and/or amount.

1. Select the Job whose Order you will be changing.

2. Click on the Orders tab on the left hand side. (Note: Yes, there is an invoices tab, but that is mainly used for recording payments and sending emails to the client with the link to pay online)

3. Click on the Order that you will be changing.

4. On the bottom of the Order, there is a section called Payment Schedule, which shows the invoices that have been paid or yet to be paid. You can create a new invoice, delete an invoice, or edit the invoices to update the due dates and amounts.  You can also record payments or send a payment link here using the icons.

After Editing the Invoices, you will see the following screen, which you can update if you want to delete an invoice and change the amount due.

Now you can Save Invoices and send your client a new link to the invoice that you have updated.
