Q: How do I add the order total to the contract? When I use the Job > Total placeholder, it displays as $0.
A: This is the incorrect placeholder to use for your contracts. The reason why that placeholder displays as $0 is because there is not a booked order yet. Additionally, that placeholder will use the amount for all orders associated with that job (including parent or guest orders - not what you want included in the contract).
Please use the Proposal > Booked Order's Total placeholder instead, and it will use the correct balance for the quote that your client books.

Hello,
What place holder should I use for date of shoot? The only one I could find was "Primary Event Date" so I tried that. However, it shows today's date. I triple checked and the session is set up with a date of June 2, 2012. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!
So in a contract if I wanted to display the retainer amount and the outstanding balance to be paid within a certain number of days, how would I do that ? I have tried the Job > retainer amount and Final Payment amount both of which give me numbers, just not the right amounts !
Mark.... Can you file a helpdesk ticket and include the URL of the Contract and Proposal this is in reference for?
Personally.... do you really need those on the contract? Would it not be better for that information to be on the sales order? If the client adds on to their package, the information included in the contract they signed would then be incorrect........ right?
thank you Karen, you are probably completely right, the sales order is the right place for it. I was just trying to impose my current business workflow onto Tave. I will have another look at the ordering / workflow thing and see if I can streamline it further - I have to say so far I'm completely blown away with this software.
Thanks Mark, glad you're enjoying it!! :)
